The diagram shows how plastic waste is turned into clothes.
Overall, there are eight main steps in the process, starting from collecting used plastic and ending with making clothes. Most of the steps use machines.
First, plastic bottles and containers are collected from recycling points. Then, they are washed to remove any dirt. After that, the clean plastic is cut into small pieces called plastic flakes. These flakes are then put into a melting oven and heated until they melt.
Next, the melted plastic is put into a pelletiser, which makes small pellets. After that, the pellets are made into yarn by a special machine. In the last stage, this yarn is used to make different clothes such as shirts and trousers.
