Recently, the retirement age from work has been raised in various countries. I personally believe that this regulation can affect positively to the society and able to outweigh the disadvantages depending on the country itself. In this essay, I will elaborate on the reasoning behind my opinion.
To begin with, there are countries that have low percentage of childbirth, which leads to higher amount of adults and elders than younger generations. Because of the high ratio of adults and elders, it is not quite possible to not raise the requirement age to retire since the economic industries need workers to prevent nationwide bankruptcy. For example, Japan have the largest ratio differences between minors and elder people and now they are facing the urgency of finding new workers to work in the industry.
On the contrary, there are people who believe that raising the retirement age can cause lower hiring rate due to higher number of people looking for a job, however, this issue can be solved if the government understand whether the raise is needed or not and they also responsible to make sure that the system are regulated properly.
In conclusion, raising the requirement of the retirement working age is one of the solution for countries that are having issues with the percentage of childbirth, but some might disagree and think it is unnecessary due to the conditions of their own countries. In my opinion, the advantages of raising the retirement age able outweigh the disadvantages if it is necessary and regulated properly by the state authorities.
