Overall, it is clear that all universities experienced an upward trajectory in their students’ enrollments. Notably, university A witnessed the most pronounced growth, whereas university D consistently had the lowest number of foreign student’s enrollments during the given timeframe.
Regarding university A and university B, in 2000, the number of international undergraduates in the former was 2000, which was approximately 1000 students lower than that of the latter. Over the next four years, the figures for overseas students in both universities increased steadily and recorded similar figures at around 3600 students for each. From 2004 onwards, the enrollments of international students in university D rose progressively to about 9000 by 2015. Similarly, the population of overseas undergraduates grew exponentially before peaking at 16000 students by 2013. From 2013 onwards, the figure for university A stabilized at 16000 until the end of the period.
Concerning the two remaining universities, in the first year, nearly 1000 overseas students enrolled in university C, which was slightly higher than that of university D, reaching 900 students. From 2000 onwards, the figures for university C and university D increased consistently, with corresponding figures being 4000 and 2600 students by 2015.
