Some people think that developed countries should provide other types of help rather than financial aid to developing counties since giving financial aid might not be a solution to poverty. I personally agree with this statement due to the following reasons.
First of all, giving financial aid for free to developing countries might establish economic dependence between poor and rich countries. This might happen especially when a poor country has received the financial aid more than once from a rich country. When poor countries become dependent, instead of finding solutions to their economic problems, they might try to lend or even ask for money to rich countries.
Second, there are other types of help that are more beneficial to poor countries, such as technology and human resources. By helping them with technology, poor countries can develop many other sectors including food productivity and transportation, which leads to economic growth. Another thing is that quality of human resources in a country plays a signifant role in the economy, politics, and increase welfare of the nation. By sending human resources to poor countries, they can be role models and help improve the quality of human resources in poor countries.
Due to these reasons, I believe providing other types of help, such as technology and human resources, can better solve poverty in developing countries rather than just giving money. Even though giving financial support to poor countries may sound beneficial and instant, this action is likely to bring more negative impacts among people in poor countries especially in the future.
