It is clear that most of the proportion of transportation used for traveling to a university saw an upward trend. Furthermore, the car and bus were by far the most popular methods of transportation over a five-year period.
In 2004, the percentage of car users was the highest, with more than 50%, while the figure for bus was lower, accounting for only 33%. Additionally, the proportion of people using bicycles quadrupled that of trains, making up 9% and 3%, respectively. Moreover, at a particular university, walking was more common than taking the train to school, at slightly over 5%.
In the year 2009, there was a gradual increase in the percentage of people who used buses to go to school, standing at 46%. By contrast, car use declined significantly by 23%. On the other hand, bicycle usage witnessed a remarkable climb, to over 15%, followed closely by train use at 4% and walking at well over 5%.
