The maps illustrate the change in Lynnfield town in 1936 and the layout in 2007.
Overall, the town showed a significant improvement with regard to its infrastructure and facilities. The most notable features are housing and commercial area.
First of all, in the top left of the town, two trees have been demolished, leaving one tree in 2007. Across from this area, a residential area has been added, taking the place of a river. A farming area and government offices in the bottom right of the map, have been converted into a golf course and a museum in order to attract numerous visitors.
At the centre of the map, a flower store, sweet shop and butchers have been demolished to make area for a supermarket and a travel agent. Whereas a bank and a post office were in their original places as in 1936. In the bottom left of the map, a cycle path was turned into a road where cars and other vehicles can access the town.
