On the one hand, the amount of international students in the USA was more than Canada. In 2002-2003 school year, the greatest number of international students came from China, at 200,00, which in the next school year had decreased, 9%. The rate of students from the other USA nations had 6% increase to end up at 116,600. Indian students were the least number of international students, while they had increased 7% to reach the peak of 33,170 in the final school year. However, the total international students in the USA saw 2% drop to hit the low of 570,000.
On the other hand, Canada had fewer number of international students. The number of total international students in Canada started at 59,870, and rised 17%. The significant number of international students came from China, 5,400 in 2002-2003 school year. It had the biggest change in 2003-2004 school year, 45%. However, students from the USA had a least rise, 9% to end up at 5,450. The number of Indian students started at 2,100, which rised to 2,835 in the final school year.
