Overall, it is apparent that Utah has the highest percentage of adolescents while Florida possesses the highest number of the elderly. In regards to the average income and the percentage of impoverished populace, California ranked the highest.
In terms of the number of young people, roughly one third of Utah population (28%) are under the age of 18 while California and Florida have quite similar percentages of 17% and 16%, respectively. On the other hand, the percentage of citizens aged 60 and above in Florida, which is 23%, is almost triple the rate of Utah at 8%. Meanwhile, California ranks second regarding the percentage of elderly citizens at 13%.
