The bar chart provides information about the young generation’s choice of transport over a year. Overall, car was the most preferable means of vehicle among younger generation in all countries, except France where bicycle was the most commonly used transport, followed by car and motorcycle. Notably, there was a pronounced difference between the popularity of car and other vehicles in the UK, USA and Italy. It is also evident that motorcycle was the least popular transport in all countries, with the exception of USA.
Focusing first on the usage of car, Italy showed the highest figure, with almost 75%, followed by the UK and USA, at 60% each. In France, however, only 40% of young people drove car in a year, where bicycle use exceeded.
Bicycle was the next most popular choice. Almost half of population (45%) in France chose bicycle, slightly higher than in UK, with 30%. Only 11% of people in Italy used this transport, followed closely by USA where it took third place in terms of popularity.
By contrast, motorcycle was the least popular vehicle in the UK, France and Italy, ranged between 9% to 12%. In USA, however, it was the second most preferable transportation, with 30% of individuals opting for it.
