Band 6+: More and more people are migrating to cities in search of a better life, but city life can be extremely difficult. Explain some of the difficulties of living in a city. How can governments make urban life better for everyone?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

An increasing number of people are moving from rural areas to cities in the hope of having a better future. It is challenging to live in a metropolis, and the government will impose some methods to improve the life of city dwellers.

There are several drawbacks in terms of living in urban areas. The main problem that citizens have to deal with is traffic congestion. Increasing unproductive travel time can cause stress and tiredness for all ages. Urban dwellers, for example, usually spend between 30 minutes and an hour sitting in traffic. Another factor living in urban areas is exposure to a host of toxic emissions from plants, and industrial zones. In addition, serious air pollution has a detrimental effect on health, such as lung cancer, asthma attacks, and other respiratory illnesses.

Some approaches should be employed to enhance city life. To begin with, the government should encourage residents to utilize buses and trains instead of their own cars, which can cut back on the carbon footprint. Additionally, companies allow employees to finish their work at different times to reduce the peak hours. Finally, it is necessary to seriously punish the factories giving out pollution smoke into the air without treatment. In particular, using enviromentally friendly ways to reduce the impact on the environment instead of artificial ones. For example, paper packages are one of the eco-friendly materials, and should be used widely to lessen global warming significantly.

In conclusion, various steps could be taken in order to solve traffic congestion and air pollution, which are the two main problems facing urban life.
