Society is in dilemma that they too commit heinous crime like murder when they punish such offenders with the death penalty. So, the life imprisonment is better punishment for the murderers and I too agree with this statement.
One of the most convincing reasons of not giving death penalty is showcasing the difference in wisdom of people, that is the offenders and the punishers. Directly giving capital punishment would categorically make no difference, while it would amount to dictatorship or anarchy. Thus, instead of death punishment, focus on improving the mindset of the individuals to become better one’s can be achieved by the way of life imprisonment.
While, some critics believe that the one’s who have committed crimes should be severely punished to set an illustration for the future criminals. So, such individuals can be taught lessons in the manner which they understand, and punishing them with death may be one such step. Unfortunately, the guilt of committing murder should not be experienced by the society as they are saving the lives of several individuals against such monsters. Nevertheless, I put forth my view quoting a popular saying “An eye for an eye would make the whole world blind”. Though, there are legal processes to punish people but sentencing criminals with death should not be forbidden and other techniques for punishing should be adopted. Further, there are consequences to only death punishment, it may arose revenge against the lawgivers and committing criminal activities may continue in future.
To summarize, capital punishment is not the only way of punishing the murderers but the focus should to give them an opportunity so that they can change their lives and become better human being while being in the prison.
