Some people argue to give higher salaries for senior management positions in a company than other employees in a company. I completely agree because the role of senior mangers in a firm is bigger than compared to others as it includes heavy work load and pressure, they should work 24/7 as this job requires continous effort.
Firstly, senior management positions in a company has heavy work load as their job is not only to complete their tasks but also look after other employees work and manage the completed tasks. For instance, a manager should create co-ordination between other workers in a company, so it would result in the project success. Moreover, managers are required to collect and form a complete solution and then submit it to the company’s board of directors.
secondly, another obvious reasons for management positions to have higher salaries are they tend to work overtime. Managers work even after office hours, their job requires complete attention towards work to ensure the task success. For example, according to a survey conducted in Japan in 2009, on an average a manager devotes more than 12 hours in a day towards his work. However, many managers quit their jobs early, as they cannot handle their work pressure efficiently. Continous efforts from senior managers are needed to manage and complete the project successfully.
I personally agree that it is a good thing for companies to give higher salaries to senior managers. In conclusion, it is very necessary to provide high salaries to senior managers as they face heavy work pressure to create co-ordination between other workers and also work overtime continously to ensure project success.
