Some people argue that being involved with arts makes them feel better. In my case, this is so, and I believe this is the general case.
There are several reasons that justify the statement. For example, being involved in arts activities is a good way to meet people and make new friends. We can learn about other’s life-styles or their history and then be more comprehensive with others and with ourselves. This is helpful to form strong bonds with others and build a safe place where we can be ourselves. On the other hand, activities such as playing an instrument or being part of a band can promote competition and thus a reason to work hard in order to achieve their goals. It also promotes co-working and solidarity, which is the cornerstone of any healthy society.
In my case, I’m part of a barbershop group, which consists of a group of four people who gather to sing. The goal is to form melodies basically, so each of us has to sing a particular note. This is very hard to achieve indeed. However, I always have a great time singing with my friends. Sometimes, when I feel a little blue I call them to sing and all those bad feelings disappear. I think that these kind of activities serve as way to dissociate a little bit and recharge energy to face another day.
Overall, making arts is wonderful for several reasons. In my case, it is helpful to face my daily life.
