The graph illustrates the percentages of various commuting methods adopted by the youth in countries such as Australia, USA, Canada and New Zealand in the year 2000.
Overall, cars were widely being used in all the four countries, followed by bicycle and motorcycle being the least. USA had the highest car users, whereas, Canada and New Zealand had equal percentage of the same.
It is clear that, young Americans drove cars the most representing 80%, followed by bicycles at 60%, which was equal to the percentage of car users in Australia. The least used mode of transport in USA was motorcycles at 25%. Australia was the second country that used bicycles only 10% lesser than cars. However, the proportion of cars used in Canada and New Zealand were equal that represented 50%.
Furthermore, motorcycles were most used in New Zealand which represented 40%, followed by Canada, USA and Australia at 30%, 25% and 20% respectively. Canadians used bicycles the least compared to the other countries at 35% and just 10% more were used by New Zealanders.
