In today’s fast-paced world, gadget use for children is a topic of ongoing debate. In connection with technological advances, the issue presents both benefits and challenges.
I agree with statements that said, “children should be allowed to use phones during the school day,” as studies have shown that, since the COVID-19 pandemic, it has led the movement of effective education and work with online systems. Indeed, not only the learning methods, but also all materials are provided digitally. Then, children can explore more of the provided materials on the internet. Moreover, there are many educational games which can be utilized. Another study states that children are more interested in colorful visuals for their learning process. Additionally, they can enjoy listening to music or watching movies on a break time at school with their friends. Those kinds of activities are believed to allow them to relax and prepare themselves for the next lesson during the day.
On the other hand, opponents ban gadget usage during school days as they might distract children’s focus. As parents, they also worry about negative dependency on mobile phones. For instance, children could be lazy about solving their problems because of the ease of searching on Google.
In conclusion, gadgets offer equal advantages and disadvantages for children. Nowadays, a parent’s role is essential in several steps of child development. Therefore, rather than forbidding them from playing with gadgets, it is better for parents to provide a good understanding of how to use gadgets appropriately for their children’s age.
