Band 5+: Some people think mobile phones should be banned in public places such as libraries, shops and public transport. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In today’s time mobile phones are used very much for performing different tasks or contacting with friends or relative. But apart from its marvelous benefits, one group of people believes that it should not be allowed in sites of public importance. I completely agree with this statement with some exception. In this essay i am going to discuss those reasons.

Firstly, It causes the disturbance to other people like students preparing for their exams can be distracted if the person sitting next to him is listening songs. It also become sometimes become annoying because people want to focus on their work but they couldnt. Secondly, This ruins the shopping experience because people start filming or taking pics of the items from their mobile phones and they can decide properly what to choose from the shops. Thirdly, if some friends are enjoying the roadtrip and they dont fully enjoy because of one fellow friend who is constantly on his phone chatting with his girlfriend. Lastly, It threatens the people privacy where any person can stalk or blackmail them by compromising their private information. Because of these reasons mobile phones should be forbidden.

However, there are some cases where it should not be restricted. During some emergency mobile phones can be used to send alert or contact to their relative or concerned authorities and it will help from causing any further damage. Phones should be allowed in libraries to those students only who are preparing for their exams. In conclusion, I think mobile phone usage in public areas should be restricted because it bothers others, spoils the fun during shopping and tour with friends while permitted to students for education and emergency situations only.
