The table charts show the figure of international students studying in Canada and the United States by country of origin between 2002 and 2003. Overall, the number of students who originate from China illustrate the biggest change in Canada, whereas students who come from the USA. In contrast, the USA shows the only decrease.
Regarding the number of students who are from China it increased 45%, that changed from 5400 to 7850 in Canada. However, in the USA shows a 6% rise, from 110,000 to 116,600. Furthermore, students who are from India shows a 35% increase, going up from 2,100 to 2,835 in Canada. By contrast, in the USA, the figure of students changed 7 % from 31,000 to 33,170.
Besides, students who are from the USA show a 9% rise, from 5,000 to 5,400 in Canada. In contrast, the USA illustrates the only decrease, which is 9%, from 200,000 to 182,000.
As a result, the total number of students increased 17%, from 59,870 to 70,004 in Canada. Likewise, the USA shows a slight incline, which is 2% with 581,600 to 592,230.
