The table gives information about the percentage of inhabitants residing in four distinct categories of housing across three areas in a city in the UK.
Overall, comparable numbers of residents are recorded in the three areas despite an evident difference in residential preference. The majority of residents in the Green Park area prefer flats, while terraced houses are the most prevalent category in the Southberg area. In contrast, individuals settling in the Central area tend to opt for semi-detached and detached dwellings in comparison with other types.
Looking first at the Central area, which has a population of 32,100, flats and terraced houses are the least preferred categories, with 15% and 18% of the population, respectively. In stark contrast, detached housing is much more predominant, with nearly two-fifths of the population living in this type of accommodation, followed closely by semi-detached ones, at 28%.
Regarding the Green Park area, there are 31,700 dwellers in the area, and three-fourths of them enjoy living in flats. The remaining types show relatively low figures, ranging from 5% to 14%.
With regard to the Southberg area, this area also exhibits the same population as the Green Park area. However, the proportion of people staying in terraced houses ranks first, standing at 56% and doubling that of flats. A similar pattern to the Green Park area was observed in the figures for semi-detached and detached houses, only reaching a negligible 14% and 5%, in that order.
