Overall, it is clear that the number of exchange students was higher in Europe to Australia and it increased over the period, while exchanges in Ausralia to Europe totaly remained the same.
Looking at the details, exchanges in Europe to Australia rose considerably from 186 to 226 in total. The main contributers to that were France, Germany and, Sweden. Sweden and Germany saw a significant increase from 32 and 27 thousands to 42 and 63 thousands, respectively. Despite a merit decrease in France, it remained as one of the major country of exchanging student. United Kingdom and The Nitherlands saw a small fall in number with 32 and 36 thousands in 2007 and 25 and 26 thousands in 2009, in turn.
Regarding the exchange students in Australia to Europe, the number remained as 152. In 2007, all contries exchanged approximately 30-40 thousands students, except Germany(18). However, in 2009, France accounted for 58 thosands
