It is widely argued that, some people opine that economic sustainablity has significant importance, while others give more priority to environmental protection. This essay partially agrees with this statement, as both has its own advantages. Both views will be discussed in this essay, and I also present my opinion before reaching a balanced conclusion.
On the one hand, in this modern society, a growing number of people give more importance to personal vehicles, which contributes to detrimental effects on environmental protection. To adress this issue, the authorities should promote public transport. Public vehicles like buses can carry passengers simultaneously, and also reduce the number of vehicles, especially during peak hours. Individuals should also reduce their excessive reliance on personal cars in order to reduce traffic congestion. Moreover, it contributes to the noise pollution and air pollution which leads to various health issues like respiratory tract infection, asthma and bronchitis. For instance, in the developing cities of Pakistan, global warming and smog are increasingly severe due to the emissions of harmful gases such as carbon dioxide and nitric oxide. Therefore, we should always pay attention towards environmental protection for the overall well-being of society and individuals.
On the other hand. agricultural sector is also adversely affected by the pollution, despite being a key contributor in country’s economy. When the farmers are unable to cultivate crops due to the degradation of land and poor soil quality. Individuals tend to prefer imported vegetables and fruits, that are not available in our country. This trend places a significant pressure on the overall national economy. For instance, in the rural areas of Pakistan, industrial wastes and excessive use of cheminal fertilisers descline the productivity of crops that are bennficial for the country’s economy.
In conclusion, economic growth and environmental protection play a crucial role to increase the overall productivity of country. I believe that a balanced approach is needed.
