Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing this letter to request you to allow me some time off from work. I am travelling to India to visit my family as it’s been a decade, I have not seen my loved ones. Also, my younger sister is getting married so, my presence at the wedding is important. Another reason is that I am going to get treatment of my joint pain as it is cost-effective there.

The requested time off is going to be for four weeks, starting from the September 3, to September 30 of this month. In my absence Mary would be more suited for this position as she has considerable experince in respective field of work. I will give her the information and statistics of the ongoing projects after getting approval from you. I will be looking forward for your immediate response. Thank you for your time and consideration.
