The two pie charts illustrate the percentage of sales of the three types of new cars in Australia in the years 1984, 1993 and 1993 in the month April.
Overall, it can be clearly seen that the largest proportion of new cars allocated to Sedan in all three years, while SUVs had the least numbers of sales, which remained constant over the last two years. In comparison, other types of cars experienced a slight growth.
In terms of Sedan, it was responsible for the most significant share, with 74% by 1984, this trend showed a gradual decline to 62% until 2004, after reaching its lowest peak which comprised just over half of the whole sales in 2013.
The share of sales of SUVs accounted for 7% in 1994, which showed a considerable increase to less than a fifth in the 10 years, unchanged between the years 2004 and 2013. Likewise, the figure for the other types saw an upward trend from approximately 20% to 32% in the almost 20 years.
