The line chart illustrates the percentage of cinema attendance in Great Britain into different groups depended on their ages, from 2000 to 2011.
Overall, cinema attendance showed a steady increase over the period across all age groups. In addition, young generation between 15 and 24 years of age took the highest proportion, whereas individuals those who aged 35 years and older showed the least percentage.
At the beginning, about 17% of British young residents aged 15-24 visited the cinema, which was the highest figure among all age groups. This percentage then rose dramatically, reaching over 55% in 2011, despite some fluctuations in the middle of the period. In contrast, the percentage of British people aged 35 and above remained very low until 2002. From that point onward, it grew gradually and considered 10% in the final year of the period.
Meanwhile, the remaining two age groups showed a comparable figure of increase and decrease over the period. The proportion of cinema-visiters in the youngest group grew from 10% in 2000 to 30% in 2011. In addition, the figure for those aged 25-35 nearly tripled during these years.
