In 1999, internet usage by those under 15 years old and those 50 or older slightly increased from 2% in 1998 to 8% in 1999 and from 4% in 1998 to 8% in 1999, respectively. In contrast, the 16-30 year old age group decreased from 53% in 1998 to 45% in 1999. Internet usage by the 31 to 51 year old age group also dropped to 39%.
In 2000, the 16-30 year old and 31 to 50 year old age groups gradually decreased to 44% and 37%, respectively. The under 15 year old and 50 or older age groups slightly rose to 9% and 10%, respectively.
