The bar chart depicts the gender comparison of science subject undertaken by young people, in a british university in 2009. Generally, physics is more male-dominated than veterinary medicine which takes the opposite trend.
First, biology bears the highest number of student enrollment with slightly more males than females.Closely following on its heels, is medicine with a little less in the studentry but with almost the same male-female ratio as biology. Astronomy and geology follow almost similar strategy of enrollment, and gender ratio of 150 students for males and almost 50 for females. Physics is a predominatly male subject with a little bit more than 200 men as compared to slightly less than 50 women. Bringing up the rear is the subject veterinary medicine, with the least students partaking in the course, and conversely having more female students of slightly more than 100 than males which have a little bit lower than 100 students.
Overall, I can deduce from the chart that males prefer physics while the female folks love veterimary medicine.
