Nowadays, online learning and artificial intelligence are experiencing substantial growth in popularity and usage. While some people believe that modern ways of studying will excel and replace traditional classroom-based education, others think otherwise. I truly believe that classroom-based education will not be replaced by other options.
It cannot be denied that new ways of studying have several benefits, such as convenience and, for some people, even stress reduction. Firstly, online learning and artificial intelligence provide great flexibility and comfort for students. The opportunity to study from different places all over the world, using only a phone or a laptop, contributes to increasing the number of students and their attendance. For example, a student who goes on vacation with his family still has an opportunity to continue the study process. Also, students with certain complexes, such as anxiety or inferiority, can feel more comfortable and may not try to overcome their issues. Moreover, day by day, artificial intelligence is becoming smarter and new features are appearing; and those factors lead people to think that artificial intelligence will replace teachers.
However, I totally disagree with this view and support the other one. Traditional classroom-based education cannot be replaced with new ways of studying or technologies due to the lack of face-to-face communication and discipline. One of the most essential needs for all people is communication with other humans, and a lack of that skill could foster some problems, such as being depressed or having other mental issues. When a student interacts with his peers or teachers face-to-face, he not only obtains the dry information but also has a conversation with classmates and improves his social skills. In addition, discipline in the classroom is higher, owing to the fact that students are sitting in the classroom having face-to-face contact, in contrast to online studying wheren some students are lying on the bed or even eating during the lesson.
To conclude, despite all the merits of artificial intelligence and online studying, I strongly believe that classroom-based education can not be replaced due to its greatermore effectiveness.
