International Tourists Arrivals
The line graph illustrates the number of international visitors to five different countries: Brazil, Egypt, Malaysia, France, and the USA -between 1995 and 2010.
Overall, all five countries saw an increase in tourist arrivals over the fifteen-year period. France and the USA were consistently the most popular destinations, while Brazil and Egypt remained the least visited, despite their steady growth.
Looking at the top two countries, the USA started with the highest number of visitors at 70 million in 1995. However, France experienced a significant rise, overtaking the USA around 2005 to reach approximately 90 million by 2010. Meanwhile, the USA’s growth was more gradual, ending the period at nearly 90 million as well.
Malaysia saw a notable surge in popularity; its numbers more than doubled, rising from 20 million to over 50 million. Brazil and Egypt followed a similar upward trend but at a much lower level, starting at roughly 10 million and finishing between 20 and 25 million visitors each by 2010.
