The two bar charts compare data regarding the percentage of employment in males and females aged 60-64 of the year 1970AD and 2000AD in four different countries: Belgium, USA, Japan, and Indonesia.
In the year 1970AD, all countries have higher percentage of men in their early-sixties working than women. The country with lowest difference between employment rate is the USA with the men being hired approximately 6 percent more than the women. The average employment percentage of the men and women are estimated to be around 80 percent and 65 percent respectively.
In the year 2000AD, all four nations also have higher percentage of men working than women. The average working percentage for the men and women have both lower considerably and are determined to be in the range of 60 percent and 20 percent respectively.
The glaring differences between the charts are the fact that Belgium in the year 2000AD have only around 9 percent of women working, this is a really significant drop from the year 1970AD even with the lower average employment already taken into account. This drop could be caused by many reasons e.g. the ability to retire early due to increasing income for women.
