The maps illustrate the changes that have taken place in a student common room over the past five years.
Overall, the room has become more modern and better equipped. While several fresh installations, including extra kitchen and entertainment appliances, have been incorporated, some seating areas and storage furniture have been eliminated or repositioned.
Five years ago, the common room contained four round tables with chairs positioned around them. Next, the upper side of the room comprised a cupboard, a sink, two benches, a microwave, and a refrigerator. In addition, a bookshelf was located in the bottom-right corner of the room.
At present, a number of changes can be observed. In particular, the bookshelf has been discarded and replaced with a television and three armchairs in the lower-right corner. Another notable upgrade is the addition of a second microwave beside the original one, replacing the original bench, while the layout of the seating area has also been modified. Besides, the table in the center floor has been replaced by a longer rectangular table surrounded by more chairs, suggesting an increase in seating capacity. Furthermore, a new bench for laptops has been installed along the lower wall of the room. Despite these alterations, some features have retained their original position. Particularly, the sink, cupboard, refrigerator, and one of the round tables have all been retained in their original positions altogether.
