In terms of the total proportion of both genders, males accounted for the highest percentage of driving license, at around 70%, while the figure for females stood at 30%. By the end of the period, the proportion of females with driving license underwent the most pronounced growth, increasing to 60%, whereas the figure for males steadily rose to 80%.
Regarding young drivers, in 1996, around 50% of young drivers aged 17-20 were males, while only 30% were females. By 2006, both figures declined to approximately 45% and 20% respectively.
