The maps depict how the village of Stokeford had been developed over an eighty year period and show that the farmland was cleared to make way for more residential areas.
When looking at the greenspaces in 1930, there were two large farmland areas throughout the village as well as the gardens belonging to the large house. By 2010, those farmland areas had been cleared to make way for many new individual residences and new cul-de-sacs were constructed on either side of the main road. A further decline of the green areas was the reduction in size of the garden near the large house. The garden sizewas halved and the large house was repurposed and extended into retirement home by 2010.
In 1930, there were two shops between the houses and post office. By 2010, these shops were demolished and replaced by more housing and cul-de-sac. In contrast, the only features that remained unchanged were the bridge, primary school and post office.
