The maps illustrate the current layout of Huntingdon and the proposed changes planned for the future.
Overall, the most significant developments involve the replacement of the airfield with an industrial estate, the expansion of the built-up area, and major improvements to the road network, particularly the construction of a new roundabout near the town centre.
At present, an airfield occupies the north-western part of Huntingdon, adjacent to the A1 road. The built-up area, containing homes and shops, is situated to the east, while the railway station lies south of Brampton Road. The town centre is located on the eastern side of the map and is connected to the ring road and the A14.
In the proposed plan, the airfield will be demolished and replaced by an industrial estate. Furthermore, the residential and commercial area in the north-east will be extended considerably towards the west. Another major change concerns transportation infrastructure. A new roundabout will be built at the junction where Brampton Road meets the route leading to the town centre. The road system around the town centre and ring road will also be reconfigured to improve traffic flow. In contrast, the A1, A14, railway station, and Brampton Road will remain largely unchanged.
