The maps illustrate how Felixstone town changed between 1967 and 2001.
Overall, Felixstone Town became more urbanised over the years. Notably, farmland was converted into different kinds of buildings.
Focusing on the north side of the town first, the farmland was replaced by a hotel, a swimming pool, and two tennis courts. In 1967, there were many shops on the right and left sides of the high street. However, shops located on the right side of the high street made way for apartments in 2001. Moreover, the golf course remained unchanged throughout the period.
The south part of the town experienced considerable changes. The Marina Pier and a fish market replaced the two different beaches (private and public beaches) on the south-east side of the town. A car park was added near a hotel and a cafe, which are situated almost in the middle of the town. Lastly, wind turbines were constructed between the sea and the dunes.
