In contemporary society, university learning poses greater challenges to students in comparison with general education schools. Notwithstanding this phenomenon stems from various reasons, it can be tackled by salient solutions.

The difficulties in studies at university or college that youngsters deal with are driven by various factors. One of the major causes of this issue is that students are required to be independent during university life. This is because studying at university or college occurs in adulthood where students have to make decisions themselves and lead a self-reliant life at university. They often struggle to strike a balance between daily routine and study without parental assistance. Hence they are not able to focus entirely on learning, necessitating time to adapt. For example, students living at a distance from home definitely have difficulty studying at university since they have little experience managing their own finances and daily routines, which severely affects their studies. Another cause is that university education involves substantially different learning methods compared to grade schools. Higher education forces students to adapt to active learning without strict instructions from lecturers. As a result, students who are accustomed to the teaching approach in grade schools may suffer from initial obstacles in studies.

To mitigate these challenges demand a combined measures focusing on skill enhancement and university programs. Firstly, students should make improvements in their soft skills. Time- management, decision making, financial management are practical during college life that can be efficiently acquired via hands-on activities. These can help students face difficulties in higher education, reducing pressure for independent life and increasing students ‘ concentration on studies. Secondly, programs relating to university education are encouraged to be fostered in grade schools before students enter colleges. For example, students can practice active study or group work when they are in lower levels via projects. Therefore, students can effectively learn at university whenever they have to explore profound information or work in teams.

In conclusion, many solutions can address the difficulty when learning at university or college for students thanks to students’ effort and appropriate preparation. Thus, challenges at higher education are also the opportunities for students’ holistic development.
