Some people are in a faith that the major way to prevent crime is to set longer prison sentence, while others believe that education and social programs have more impact on criminals.
It is clearly argued that, the most effective solution for reducing crime is to impose longer jail sentense. Stting sever law for lawbreakers and enhancing the time of being lockup decrease the rate of crime. Offenders, will diminish their actions against law due to fear of loosing their freedom. When government take action objecting to wrongdoer victims and their families will have the sense of being satisfied because justice have been served. Another merit is same offenses not going to be repeated as being in prison make a huge change in their behavior.
On the other hand, some individuals said that, educational and social programs have more influence on lawbreakers. Education helps offenders to gain more knowledge and oppurtunities after being released. They will addres the phsycologists to analyse what is the reason behind their behavior. For instance, therapists can achieve more information about criminals and their dicisions and what happend in their childhood. Furthermore, thay can benefits the society by working and reduce the economy’s burden. From my prespective, by providing supports for criminal throughout education the government will tackle the causes of crime.
In conclusion, increasing the hours of being in prison for criminal might be satisfiyng for victims, yet, equip lawbreakers with needed skills and education will be more helpful for the government and society.
