Some people believe that the most effective method to enhance community health is by adding more sport centres. Vica versa, others think that this would have a negligible impact on population health and it is better to find other ways. Although, not everyone interested in sport and I assume that there are no needs to add more sports facilities for improving population health. This essay will discuss different ways to improve public health and provide my own opinion.
On the one hand, sport is undoubtedly very useful for health. However, some people dislike doing sports. Even if there are a bunch of sports enthusiasts, there will be those who are very lazy to have an active lifestyle. For example, I am one of those people, I do not like being sporty, not because I do not want to, it is just hard for me because of getting tired fast. There is a risk of damage fitness facilities. Moreover, people may not use sports facilities carefully, which can lead to broken equipment. As a result, the government would have to spend a lot of money on repairs. This may not be economical financially. For example, if expensive equipment is damaged regularly, money will have to be spent on replacing it instead of other important public health problems.
On the other hand, there are other ways to improve public health. One important way is to make healthcare more accessible to people. Governments can build more medical centres and provide regular health checks. This can help people find health problems earlier and get treatment in time. Another useful way is to encourage people to eat healthier food. For example, schools can teach students about healthy diets and the importance of eating fruit and vegetables. People may develop healthier habits and reduce the risk of different diseases.
In conclusion, although adding more sports centres can encourage some people to be more active, I believe that it is not the most effective way to improve public health. Better healthcare and education about healthy lifestyles can have a greater effect on the health of the population.
