Having a house is one of the necessities in every person’s life, however not everyone may have enough money to buy a house, therefore, the government should provide free homes for homeless people. While I acknowledge that house prices are surging now so it may be quite expensive to purchase a house for people who have a little amount of income, I partially disagree since there are lot of things that government should deal with it and I think providing completely free houses may lead to homeless people becoming dependent on the government.
On the one hand, in today’s rapidly developing world, the cost of not only clothes, technologies or food but also houses growing significantly compared to past. House sellers are increasing the costs of accomodations steadily, particularly houses are overpriced in the well-developed countries since there is a huge demand for this. Because of this, it might be impossible to find money for housing for a few people who earn a little and recently left their parent’ home as they have to expend a huge amount of money on their studies, nourishment and other daily necessities. Providing a free housing would be such a great help of the country to its dwellers who struggle to find sufficient money to buy a house.
On the other hand, the government should invest its money for much more important things like environmental problems, healthcare, education, country’s development and other minor things that need to be addressed as the government money is limited. Therefore, if country authorities spend a greater number of allocation on offering free houses, country may become undeveloped and weakened because of investing money on free houses instead of much crucial things that contribute beneficially in development of a country. Furthermore, people who are provided with free housing may become less responsible for their own lives like seeing the government as a someone who is lookout for providing necessities for them. As a result, some people may start not to work and not to run towards their long-term goals. Additionally, this generous action of government may not have any positive implications for the country’s development.
In conclusion, although possessing a own house may be challenging for people, especially for lower class, I strongly believe that the government should not provide free housing for this kind of people as it may lead expending significant amount of government’s money and people may become less responsible for their lives.
