There is a growing trend of the demand for more flights due to tourism and the increasing rate of travelers. This essay will exonerate how noise pollution as become an issue as a result of these trends and how the intervention of the government can help address this issue.
One of the problems posed by increased booking of flights is noise pollution. Airports used to be far away from residential areas but urbanization has caused more innovations, which has led to the development of large proportion of lands, making more people to move to areas close to the airport. Noise pollution has negative impacts on human health and lead to certain health conditions such as: high blood pressure, hearing impairment, sleep disorder and anxiety. For example, my aunt, who lives close to the airport has developed a hearing impairment as a result of loud noises from the aircraft. These challenges will become rampant, if there is an increasing demand for more flights.
To solve this issue, the government should implement laws that support only storey buildings and shared apartments within the cities, where airports are built and punishments should be given to citizens who do otherwise. These laws will help in land optimization by providing more spaces for individuals to build their houses far away from airports, making it possible for more than one family to have their homes in one building.
In conclusion, the growing demand of flights for the needs of tourists and other travelers have led to an uninterrupted noise in the environment. However, the interventions of the public sector can help tackle this issue.
