Overall, the highest share of the boys in this survey favored doing sports and going to the park in their free time while these are the least attractive pastimes as for their female counterparts. By contrast, girls were the most attracted by art and craft; however, this leisure activity was taken by the lowest share of the boys.
To elaborate, 25% and 27% of the examined boys played sports and went to the park during their leisure time, exceeding the figure for girls by a disparity of 13% and 15%, respectively. Meanwhile, no difference was seen in the share of boys and girls playing computer games, at 15%.
In the same year, the proportion of girls doing art and craft was the highest, at 25%, compared to a mere 7% of their male counterparts. Similarly, concerning reading books, 18% of girls engaging in this pursuit, overtaking that of boys by 8%. Watching DVDs was also a female-dominated recreation as the figure for boys was surpassed by that for girls, with a gap of 3% being recorded.
