Band 6+: In many parts of the world, children are given more freedom than in the post. Is this a positive or a negative development?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is fairly seen that nowadays; younger generations enjoy increased amount of freedom at most places of the globe than what used to be offered in ancient times. Although, surge in freedom might lead to minor issues among individuals, I firmly believe that rise in such upbringing is a positive trend and a progressive growth for mankind as a whole.

To begin with, more availability of freedom, means less family responsibilities at young age and proper growth. It helps create a more mature and healthier person in the future. As for instance, in the past, families tend to get their young ones married at a very early age and children did not have the right to speak much about it. Marrying at such an early age led to many consequences including maternal mortality and mental disturbance. But, in this era they can speak confidently about themselves and what they want to do without the fear of family pressure. Many girls are now able to pursue their passion and not worry about having to get married at an early age.

Although, in some cases more freedom might lead to problems like irresponsibility, and crimes, however, these can be resolved with proper parental guidance and the benefits offered with freedom are far more as compared to restrictions. At present time, individuals are able to enjoy more of their youth time which they could utilize wisely to learn many new things. This development helps children to be a better person and serve well for the growth and welfare of their families and societies.

To conclude, having more freedom might not always be beneficial, but the merits it carries along like mental wellness and ability to follow passion, outweigh the demerits which is crucial for human development. Thus, well balanced freedom with proper parental guidance could be better for child growth and society as a whole.
