Homeless people can be seen in every part of the world. Some individuals argue that financial help is the best aid for them. Although it is true that giving money can definitely help homeless people, I believe that, other ways of helping them are not less important.
On the one hand, In todays capitalist world, we can not purchase anything unless we have enough money. Most homeless people need money more than anything, as they are not employed, they do not receive a salary from anywhere. Furthermore, as we have seen from the practices, lots of times, when people living on the streets asked what they need most, got responses nothing but money.
On the other hand, I believe that, other types of aid should not be considired less important than direct financial support. First and foremost, people should think the origin of that issue, why homeless people lack to have enough money to live? The answer is often simple; they are usually unemployed. Therefore, offering suitable job opportunities for them might be more effective than just giving money. Secondly, large number of homeless people may face serious psychological and other mental health challenges. Providing them with free therapy and supporting their mental health can act as a lifechanger for them. There is scientific evidence showing that, for instance, after gaining their mental stability back, 50% of homeless people got employed and returned to normal lifestyle.
In conclusion, although there are good arguments for money is the best way of helping homeless people, I do not believe that direct financial support outweighs other ways of help.
