The topic to be discussed is between two schools of thought concerning the ability of advertisements to persuade us to buy things. Whereas some people think that advertising has a very high ability to make their selling power very strong, others believe that because there are many posts about products, we do not take notice of them. In my opinion, publicity on sales items is extremely successful in prompting buyers to purchase them.
On the positive side, propaganda via social media, radio, newspapers, electronic media, or even leaflets helps the manufacturer to make the public knowledgeable about the product to be sold, otherwise, will not be known by anybody that it even exists. Also, some essential features of the goods can be promoted to stimulate the consumer, hence, enhancing the thought of purchasing them. For example: manufacturers of cosmetic products pay high attention to their promotion sector and show in their notifications very beautiful ladies and handsome men, so making spectators think positively regarding the cosmetics steers them forward to buying them. Furthermore, even those who are not literate or do not have access to readable material will recognize announcements, pictures, or exhibits and may think of buying. For example: the population in remote and underprivileged areas who lack the opportunity to read newspapers etc.
On the contrary, those who think advertisements have become a normal thing in society and are a futile attempt by companies may have been bored by seeing them and consider them as less attention-seeking. For example: Seeing a dozen advertisements over and over, people will eventually lose interest in buying any product. Adverts that pop up multiple times on television minimizing our focus are an example. Further, multiple advertisements from different companies on the same item, toothpaste, for example, will lose our inquisitiveness.
In conclusion, I believe that advertising is extremely successful in persuading consumers to buy things, That is the reason for companies to divulge a huge cost on show off.
