This pie chart provides the information about food budget that was spent in the restaurants and the line graph shows how much meals were eaten in fast food and sit-down restaurants.
Overall it could be seen that through the decades people increased spendings on restaurant meals. Moreover the amount of meals they were eaten in both fast food and sit-down restaurants.
Back in 1970 non-home cooking budget was only 10%, it slightly rose in 1980 to 15%. In next two decades the food budget spent on restaurants grew up significantly, firstly to 35% and in 2000 it became a half of the whole budget.
The amount of meals increased as well. In 1970 fast food and sit-down restaurants had around 24 meals each. Fast food restaurants had only a slight rise in 1980 to around 26 meals. However in 1990 they faced a boom and overstepped the plank of 50 meals. The growth continued and by 2000 they had around 80 meals. For sit down restaurants a rise was more smooth, it grew by approximately 10 meals every decade and in 1990 the number of meals was about 47. Unfortunately, the growth decreased and in 2000 the amount of meals was not more than 49.
