It is evident that the female workforce has grown by only 10% in these last 48 years while the of workers age 50 and above has increased by 11% in 29 years.
What can be observed in the given chart is that the proportion of women workers in the UK population had a constant increase in the years 1971 to 1990 from 37% to around approx 45%. But it got stagnant after 1990. At the same time, it is seen that after 1990, 21% of people aged 50 and 50 plus started joining the UK workforce. There has been a constant rise in this workforce since then reaching from just 21% to 32%.
In conclusion, the women workforce is more than the workers aged 50 and above in the last 48 years in the UK workforce.
