The advent of social media platforms led to substantial shifts in human communications. Adults are concerned about negative affection it may have on children. I believe that it is a parents responsibility to teach the younger generation on how to use novel technology in order to socialize.

To commence, the very first knowledge kids get from observing their parents behavior, thinking, actions, and replicating it. Being on vacations with my mother, I witnessed how she made friends with russian-speaking families. Later on, this skill was used every time I met a new person anywhere and anytime. The other parent’s responsibility is to show how to behave when something new and unknown pops up in our life, so we do not get frustrated or left behind. Progress is unstoppable and fast paced, It could be very hard to adapt. The first telephone I got from my father, he showed me the way it works, and explained why I never should answer the anonymous calls so I do not get in trouble. Knowing this, anything could become an instrument of benefit, instead of disruption.

Social media is a tool, and goods it provides only appear if people use it right. Sometimes it is hard to find soulmates due to the location or language barrier. On the internet there are no such problems. The opportunity of sharing life online and getting messages from the most remote corners of the globe is a way to find new friends or business partners. Being constantly in touch with people we love has never been so easy and real.

In conclusion, considering parents’ support and prospects of social media, the social media itself means no harm to the younger generation. On the contrary, wise-using of these online platforms allows people to find new friends and keep in touch with ones they love.
