Band 8+: Some people think that governments should ban dangerous sports, while others think people should have freedom to do any sports or activity. Discuss both views and give your own opinion

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is believed that perilous sports should be forbidden by the government for several reasons while other people think that people should be allowed to take part in their favorite sports as they want to.

On the one hand, as hazardous sports involve a wide range of dangerous activities such as scuba diving, bungee jumping, parachuting, and many others, people who participate in them suffer a higher risk of injuries or even death if unexpected accidents happen. According to research from Harvard University, there are about 70 people who pass away yearly as a result of unfortunate situations. Moreover, injury and death can also be the consequences for people, especially youngsters who are not fully aware of their actions, mistaking hazardous sports for reckless and stupid acts.

On the other hand, extreme sports are popular not only because they are fun and adventurous but also for their ability to relieve people’s stress and pain, which will improve their life quality considerably. For this reason, I believe people should have freedom to choose their favorite sports as long as their safety is ensured. First, the players should have careful preparation with the necessary equipment and proper training before actually joining the sport along with having stable mental and physical health. Next, finding a reliable company or organization in this field is a good choice that people can consider, beside meeting the above requirements, which can provide players with strict supervision of well-trained professionals.

In conclusion, it is undeniable that dangerous sports can give rise to different problems but if people prepare for it carefully, it can be a great opportunity for anyone who takes an interest in such activities.
