There is no doubt that writing expresses your ability to think creatively. While some individuals believe that handwriting is not useful anymore in the modern days and does not need to be taught in schools. I firmly disagree with this stance and think that handwriting is helpful in many area related to students academic achievements and their future career
To begin with, studies have shown that children who practice handwriting on a regular basis have better cognitive development then those who do not. This is because writing by hand requires the use of fine motor skills, which can lead to improved coordination and dexterity. Angela webb, a psychologist of national handwriting association, explained that the engagement with physical environment activated certain areas of the brain and stimulated cognitive development. Moreover research has shown that students who take notes by hand have better recall of the information then those who type their notes. For instance: when you write by hand , you are more likely to remember the information because it is encoded in a different way then when it is typed.
Furthermore, writing by hand allows individuals to express themselves in a unique way, which can be beneficial for personal growth and self – discovery. For instance: when we write by hand, we are able to put our thoughts and feelings into words in a way that personal and unique to us. Nevertheless, handwriting is a fundamental skill that will always be needed , even in the age of technology, it is essential for signing legal documents, writing letters, and filling forms. In addition, the repetitive motions of handwriting can be soothing and calming, like coloring or knitting.
In conclusion, handwriting may seem like a quant relic of the past in today’s digital age, but it is still an important and valuable skill to have . not only does it promote cognitive development, but it is also an essential skill that will be nessesury for many aspects of our lives
