The bar chart illustrates the figures of families in five different groups separated by their earnings in the United States in three different years.
Overall, it is clear that the annual income in all five categories had risen in 2015 compared to the first year. Although, it is noticeable that the number of families which have annual incomes between $75,000 and $99,999 remained constant during the given period.
In 2007, almost 30 million American households had yearly incomes of $100,000 or more, which was the highest amount in that year. Also, nearly 15 million families earned half that figure for the same year. Meanwhile, approximately 72 million of the U.S. households had incomes from less than $25,000 to $74,999 yearly. Four years after that, the number of households which earned between less than $25,000 and $25,000–$49,999 rose rapidly, reaching a record high. However, the figures for families with $50,000–$74,999 incomes remained constant, and families with yearly incomes between $75,000–$99,999 and $100,000 or more had a small decline in numbers.
As regards the chart, in the last year, the number of households with the highest amount of income experienced a dramatic rise, reaching a peak of almost 33 million. With a slight rise, 15 million U.S. households earned $75,000–$99,999; meanwhile, the figures for families with $50,000–$74,999 incomes remained steady. The other two groups, with a slight decrease, stayed under 30 million households.
