Many pupils in numerous nations have chosen not to attend science as a discipline. From my perspective, it is my contention that there are numerous reasons for this issue and it may cause negative consequences for society.
There are two significant reasons why many individuals do not prefer to study science disciplines. First of all, the vast majority of these subjects are complicated, which requires students to devote more effort and time to it. To learn science-related academic disciplines, pupils are required to be proficient in mathematics, reading comprehension, and analytics skills, which is an arduous task for students, to grasp the principles being taught. As a result, disciples without the capabilities mentioned will struggle to comprehend the science subjects being taught. Secondly, these academic fields require lots of fortitude and resilience of an individual because the learning process of these subjects is usually long. For instance, students who are disciplined in medicine will have to study for 7 years with various courses and assessments that require the pupil’s effort to complete them.
A proliferation of people who choose not to learn science courses will affect negatively society. The first consequence it leads to will be the shortage of specialized individuals in the science field. Due to the decrease in students who study in the area, the number of individuals who graduate the major will decline which leads to a reduction of the scientific employees. Consequently, this will deteriorate the innovation of worldwide technology. The lack of scientists and staff will prevent the inventions or considerate findings that decline the development of technology.
In brief, due to the complications and protracted process of learning, many individuals have chosen not to study science which negatively affects society. Therefore, I advocate governments should encourage students to study scientific areas as a major in universities.
