There is no doubt that employment has become a common issue in the modern world. In this generation, older individuals seeking employment often have to compete with younger candidates. However, some people assert that younger job seekers are in greater need of employment than older ones. The question is whether it is truly essential for younger individuals to secure jobs, especially since many struggle to find suitable careers. Personally, I don’t believe that it is as straightforward as it seems. I will attempt to elaborate on why I hold this perspective.
Many individuals in their middle years are seeking lower-salaried jobs. For instance, workers in factories or service staff in shopping malls often fill these positions. Shopping malls may prefer older employees because they are generally more skilled at handling customer interactions. On the other hand, there are also advantages for younger workers. Gaining early experience can be invaluable; it allows them to showcase their performance to the world later in their careers and helps them mentor other younger individuals who are just starting out.
There are also many different types of jobs that require specific academic certifications. Those with a strong educational background tend to find employment more easily. In contrast, individuals without a solid academic foundation may struggle to secure a job, which can lead to feelings of inadequacy. The government should advocate for stricter laws ensuring that everyone has access to job opportunities, regardless of their educational background. Intellectual individuals or those who have developed skills should be prioritized in the hiring process. Furthermore, the current job market is highly competitive, making it challenging for everyone to obtain employment.
In conclusion, many people lose interest in seeking employment when they struggle to find a job. This is particularly concerning in skilled sectors, where the potential contributions of qualified individuals could significantly benefit society if given the opportunity to work.
